  • What hours is the Spiegeltent Canberra open?

    The Spiegeltent site will be open at least 1 hour prior to each performance from 30 Mar - 21 Apr 2019.

    The Canberra Theatre Centre Box Office is open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm

  • Is the Spiegeltent Canberra free to enter?

    Yes, but individual performances within the Spiegeltent are ticketed.

  • Is Spiegeltent Canberra for all ages?

    Yes, but some performances may have age restrictions. Please refer to individual show pages for more information.

     

  • When will tickets go on sale?

    Our 2019 season headliner LIFE the show is on sale now!

    The full program will be released and on sale from early Feb 2019.

  • Where can I purchase tickets?

    Tickets can be purchased online, via phone or in person at the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre.

  • Is My E-Ticket Enough to Get Into the Show?

    Yes - you can go straight to the venue with your E-Ticket on your phone or device.

    If you require a printed ticket, you may print your confirmation email at home or visit the venue box office during the season.

    For collections, please arrive no later than 30mins prior to your session start time. You will need valid ID for collection.

  • Are there any age restrictions to performances?

    Age suitability is listed with every performance at Spiegeltent Canberra.

    G: Suitable for All Ages

    PG: Parental Guidance recommended for under 15 yrs

    M: Recommended for 15+

    18+: Restricted to those 18+

  • Do children need a ticket for performances at Spiegeltent Canberra?

    Unless otherwise specified, children 18 months and under can sit on the lap of a carer free of charge. Any child over this age must have a ticket. No children, including babes in arms are permitted to Restricted 18+ performances.

  • Is there a discount for children?

    Some productions may offer discounts for children and/or families. If Child prices are available, they will be listed as ‘child’ throughout the program. If Family prices are available, they will be listed as 'family'.

  • What types of tickets are sold by Spiegeltent Canberra?

    Adult | Full price tickets

    Concession | Government issued concession card, seniors, full time student cards*

    Premium | Selected premium seating areas close to the stage with priority access to the venue

    Child | Children 12 and under

    Family | 2 Adults and 2 Children or 1 Adult and 3 Children

    Companion Card | Spiegeltent Canberra supports the Companion Card program. Companion Card tickets are available over the phone or in person*

    *Proof of eligibility required and must be presented when collecting pre-purchased ticket or when otherwise requested

  • Am I eligible for concession?

    If concession prices are listed for a particular event, concession prices apply to persons who are aged 16 years and under, full-time students (including International Student cardholders), full pensioners, welfare benefit recipients and the unemployed.

  • Do tickets include GST?

    Where applicable, GST is included in the ticket price.

  • Can I change my tickets?

    Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except if an event is cancelled, rescheduled or significantly relocated as outlined in the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code ofPractice.   • Is the price listed on this website the price I'll actually pay for my tickets?

    All advertised prices include Booking Fees. If you purchase a ticket on our website, your transaction is subject to a $1.80 web transaction fee. No transaction fees are applicable when tickets are purchased in person. If you wish to receive your tickets by post, you must pay an additional postage fee. 

  • Can I choose my seat in advance?

    No. All venues and events are General Admission

  • What is General Admission?

    This means that your ticket does not assign you a specific allocated seat at the venue.

  • What happens if I am running late for a performance? Will they let me in? Do I get a refund?

    Being late affects performers and the rest of the audience. This is so important that some artists specifically ask that latecomers not be admitted.

    The Spiegeltent therefore reserves the right to exclude latecomers to certain events or to admit them only during a suitable break in the performance. The Spiegeltent regrets it is not possible to refund a completed booking. Please respect the Front of House staff's instructions.

  • Is there any basic etiquette I need to be aware of?

    You are not allowed to use mobile phones, paging devices, alarm or chiming watches during performances.

    Using cameras or other recording devices is a breach of copyright and absolutely not allowed.

    Be nice and remember to consider those around you trying to also enjoy their night out.

  • How do I make an accessibility enquiry?

    Spiegeltent Canberra makes every effort to ensure our site and events are accessible to our entire audience. The Spiegeltent is accessible using an alternative entrance. If you need additional assistance, please make yourself known to Front of House staff and they will be happy to assist.

    Companion Cards can only be booked in person or by phoning the Box Office. Please ensure you present your companion card when you collect your tickets.

  • Is the Spiegeltent accessible?

    Yes, The Spiegeltent is wheelchair accessible. There are accessible toilets available at The Spiegeltent site. 

  • Is accessible parking available?

    Disabled car parks are located behind the Canberra Museum & Gallery and in the Constitution Avenue car park.

  • Does Spiegeltent Canberra support the Companion Card Scheme?

    Companion Card | Spiegeltent Canberra supports the Companion Card program. Companion Card tickets are available over the phone or in person*

    *Proof of eligibility required and must be presented when collecting pre-purchased ticket or when otherwise requested. If Print at Home tickets have been purchased, then Front of House staff will check relevant eligibility at the venue.

  • What do I do if I lose a child or parent?

    Please notify a member of staff or security immediately.

  • Where do I report lost articles?

    If you find something, please hand it in to any member of staff and we’ll do our best to return the item to its owner.

    Spiegeltent Canberra is not responsible for any lost or found property and will give any unclaimed items to charity or to the police at the conclusion of the season.

  • What do I do if I find something?

    If you find something, please hand it in to any member of staff and we’ll do our best to return the item to its owner.

  • What should I bring to The Spiegeltent?
    • Proof of age or any concession cards you require
    • Tickets
    • Shoes (Bare feet are not ok. Wear shoes at all times!)
    • During the day... sun protection!
  • What can’t I bring into The Spiegeltent?

    Alcohol (We are licenced - you cannot bring in or take alcohol from the area. Just like a pub or club. There is a bag search at the venue entrance, where any banned items will be confiscated and not returned.)

    Liquids (Unfortunately some people want to smuggle in alcohol, which breaches our Liquor License. Only empty bottles can be brought in. But, water is freely available once inside.)

    Pets and animals (excluding assistance dogs)

    Bikes (only permitted outside premise)

    Professional cameras without prior permission (Happy snaps are welcome, but anyone with a professional camera must have prior permission from Spiegeltent Canberra. Please contact [email protected])

    Any other items considered illegal or dangerous

     

  • Is there a bar or food at the Spiegeltent?

    Spiegeltent Canberra is licensed with two bars, one outside and inside the tent. The bar inside the tent will only be open for select shows. Drinks are allowed inside the Spiegeltent. We encourage patrons to drink responsibly. Any patrons who are found to be intoxicated will be asked to leave the Spiegeltent Canberra site.

    Patrons are able to bring their own food into the Spiegeltent Canberra site. No food is allowed inside the tent (excluding popcorn and choc tops purchased from the Spiegeltent Canberra bar).

  • Can I use my camera or recording device at The Garden or inside The Garden’s venues during a perform

    The use of cameras, videos or other recording devices is strictly prohibited inside the Spiegeltent Canberra venue. Outside of venues - we love happy snaps! Post them, share them and generally snap away (#SpiegeltentCanberra, @thespiegeltent).
